The Third Annual Wings and Wildflowers Festival was held Oct. 3-5, 2014 at Venetian Gardens in Leesburg, Florida. Last year’s festival boasted more than 100 activities and programs over the course of three days and featured more than 25 birding, wildflower and nature experts. On behalf of the county, thank you to all who participated in the festival's huge success.
The Wings and Wildflowers Festival made the 2014 experience unforgettable by holding field trips in these birding hotspots and wildflower havens, as well as bringing some of the nation's best birding, wildflower and nature experts to the area to share their knowledge.
The festival also made the most of Lake County’s enticing outdoor recreational opportunities, particularly for birders. The Wings and Wildflowers Festival offered visitors an opportunity to fall in love with Lake County’s vast array of birds, wildflowers and natural resources.
With Lake County’s reputation as a premier birding location, it’s the goal of this festival to enhance awareness and appreciation of Lake County’s quality of life and support environmental initiatives on behalf of citizens and visitors alike.
