SAVE THE DATE for the fourth annual Wings and Wildflowers Festival on October 2-4, 2015!
The fourth Annual Wings and Wildflowers Festival will be held Oct. 2-4, 2015 at Venetian Gardens in Leesburg, Florida.
We are proud to announce the following keynote speakers: Gallus Quigley, Lake County's resident birding expert has been a birder for over 25 years and is currently Cornell eBird regional coordinator for Lake and Sumter counties. Melinda Myers, expert gardener and editor for Birds & Blooms magazine, and we are honored to welcome back James Currie.
Birds flock to Lake County, which is home to thousands of acres of preserves and passive parklands, including the Lake Apopka Restoration Area, Ferndale Preserve, Emeralda Marsh and the Hilochee Wildlife Management Area.
With Lake County’s reputation as a premier birding location, it’s the goal of this festival to enhance awareness and appreciation of Lake County’s quality of life and support environmental initiatives on behalf of citizens and visitors alike.

Last year’s festival boasted more than 100 activities and programs over the course of three days and featured more than 25 birding, wildflower and nature experts. On behalf of the county, thank you to all who participated in the festival's huge success.
The Wings and Wildflowers Festival made the 2014 experience unforgettable by holding field trips in these birding hotspots and wildflower havens, as well as bringing some of the nation's best birding, wildflower and nature experts to the area to share their knowledge.
The festival also made the most of Lake County’s enticing outdoor recreational opportunities, particularly for birders. The Wings and Wildflowers Festival offered visitors an opportunity to fall in love with Lake County’s vast array of birds, wildflowers and natural resources.
The festival will be presented in close partnership with the City of Leesburg, the Florida Scrub-jay Consortium, the Lake Beautyberry Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society, Lake County Parks & Trails Division, the Lake County Water Authority, the Ocklawaha Valley Audubon Society, St. John’s River Water Management District and Trout Lake Nature Preserve.
